There are augments in the book that should be brought in parity with their equivalent 5e spells since they are already balanced by action economy. Maybe Balance it with 2 psi points for +5 AC and then 1 or 2 points per additional +1 AC for intensifying, which balances out its lack of anti-magic missile. See more which is already gated by the fact that I have to be focusing verve to use, shouldn't be weaker than the 5e shield spell that is its equivalent. Lastly, about Duncan W's comment on overturned downward. I understand that I am sacrificing life for power, but I am wasting the psi points to get there since no one wants to get caught without high-level spells in any situation. I agree with Duncan W that posted back on September 20th that stepping up 2,4,6,8 really means that a character must burn 8 MAX HP and 4 psi points when he wakes up. Could it possibly be made more reliable, like meditating during a short-rest instead? If not that way, then maybe make it have broader trigger conditions? Once per day is already a perfect balance. The ability is already very similar in flavor to Arcane Recovery (Wizard LVL 1). I have gone through several fights and never been targeted with an effect that triggers one of the listed saving-throws. With Power Siphon, it's very conditional. I have been dying to play a psion in 5e, but I do have a few comments.
